About 66km from the city of Kollam, it surrounds about 10 stunning eco-tourism destinations. The term THENMALA is derived from two words- Then and Mala. Here, Then- honey, Mala- hillock. For those people who are willing to tune up their adventure spirit must try this zone and it will be an thrilling experience. Mountain biking, rock climbing and river crossing are considered as one the parts of the adventure zone. If you are about to choose the culture zone then you must be ready to experience the awestruck view of the nature. This zone also includes butterfly parknakshatravanam and the dancing fountain.

This sanctuary is situated on the southern part of the Western Ghats in Pathanapuram in Kollam district and it is spread over 100.32 Sq. Km. There are four different tour packages to travelers those who are very passionate about trekking and learning about wildlife. One of the most popular package is the idimuzhangan nights. Here, the travelers are about to trek through their designated paths in the sanctuary. At evening, they stay at a camp near the wonderful reservoir, called the idimuzhangan camp. This package offers in depth experience for the tourists like trekking, bird and butterfly watching and boating in the Shenduruny Lake.
